About

EllenEllen deRoxtro attended Moore College of Art in Philadelphia, and spent the next 42 years teaching art to various age levels, the last 22 years in Palm Beach County, Florida.

Her whole life has been about art. Some of her earliest memories involve drawing animals, mostly horses and dogs using pencils and pastels. That interest continued into adulthood in the form of commissioned pet portraits in pastels. She also became fascinated with the big cats and indulged herself with pastel portraits of a snow leopard, lion, jaguar, and tiger. She has experimented with other media including batik, and pen and ink, and discovered a love for watercolors. Her subjects are mostly animals, however, this time in and around the water.
